Tips for finding the lost keys of your home

Are you the one who finds it difficult to find your things? Do you keep misplacing your stuff now and then? We can understand that not being able to find your stuff can be a little annoying. And if this happens, again and again, it can even drive you crazy. Keys, sunglasses, mobile phones, and wallets are the most commonly misplaced things. And of all these, keys are still the most lost things. It must have happened several times that you end up with lost keys –home as well as car keys. And if you are in a hurry, you tend to panic, and this affects your search process adversely.

Here are some tips that will help you find the lost keys.

1. Do not panic

Most of us react to this situation by panicking. And when we panic, we aren’t able to find the keys, and this starts annoying us. It is normal to get frustrated in such situations, but this won’t help us find the lost stuff. If we want to do a productive search, we will have to be focused in our efforts. If you try and remain calm in such situations, and search for the keys where they are supposed to be, you will be able to find them easily. Double-check at the same place where you generally keep the keys, because we tend to miss them in the first search.

There have been several studies also in this regard. Some of them suggest that you will eventually find a lost object within 18 inches of its designated place.

2. Get rid of clutter

It is a normal human tendency to search for lost items at cleaner locations. We do not search at places filled with clutter. The main aim here is to get rid of the clutter so that you can find the lost items quickly. Or else, if you do not have time to clean the cluttered areas, you should look for the lost items there first. There is a high probability that you’ve placed them there.

3. Always put your keys in a keychain

Using keychains for keys make it easy for you to find the lost keys. Here also, if you use smart keychains, your search can be simplified to another level. These smart keychains have trackers that can be connected to your smartphones. This has a dual advantage as you can find your lost keys using your phone and you can also find your lost phones using your keys.

4. Stop and think for a moment

Give yourself a little time and think about the last time you used the keys. Try and recall where you kept them the last time. Close your eyes and think about it. You will mostly get your answers.

And while these tips can be helpful, you should always keep in mind that prevention is better than cure. Try and keep things organized so that you do not lose stuff frequently. For keys, always keep replacement keys in advance for emergency needs.
